PurpleLine (27th Street): Expanding High Frequency Service to Jobs and Shopping

The PurpleLine (27th Street) will be extended on its north end to provide high frequency service to the Bayshore shopping center at Port Washington & Silver Spring Drive in Glendale. Buses will run every 10-15 minutes for most of the day seven days a week.
- Current service to Green Bay & Florist (Glendale Industrial Park) will be replaced by Route 80 (see Route 80 details).
- The digital destination signs on the outside of northbound buses will read “PURPLE TO BAYSHORE / PURPLE 27TH ST.”
- Buses will run every 10-15 minutes for most of the day seven days a week.

NEW! Route 11 (Hampton Avenue): More Frequent Service and Simplifying Service
- Route 11 is a new route that replaces Route 12’s Hampton Avenue branch service.
- Buses will travel on Hampton Avenue from Green Bay Avenue to 124th Street.
- Buses will run on weekdays as often as they do today – 20 to 25 minutes.
- Buses on weekends will run much more frequently – 20 to 30 minutes (versus 40 to 50 minutes today).
- Buses on this route will run from 5:00 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. (similar to today).
- Buses will be scheduled to connect with Route 12 high frequency service for riders who want to transfer at Teutonia & Hampton.

Route 12 (Teutonia Avenue): Expanding High Frequency Service and Simplifying Service

Route 12 (Teutonia Avenue) will be modified to provide more high frequency service to jobs as well as easier to understand routing.
- Route 12’s current high frequency service will be extended north of Hampton Avenue all the way to Brown Deer Road (via Teutonia Avenue and Green Bay Road). Buses on weekdays from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. will arrive every 15 minutes between Downtown and Brown Deer Road.
- Buses north of Hampton Avenue will arrive approximately every 15 minutes on weekdays (versus 25 minutes today) and every 20 to 25 minutes on weekends (versus 40 minutes today).
- Service on the Hampton Avenue branch will be replaced by a new route, Route 11 (see Route 11 details).
- Service on Brown Deer Road between Green Bay Road and 66th-Park Plaza will be replaced by a new, expanded route, Route 88 (see Route 88 details).
- Service on Wisconsin Avenue between N. 6th Street and N. 12th Street will be shifted one block north to Wells Street in order to provide more direct access to destinations like the Milwaukee Public Museum, Milwaukee County Courthouse, and MATC.

Route 34 (Hopkins-Congress): More Frequent Service and More Connections to Jobs and Shopping
- Route 34 is a new route that replaces Route 80’s Hopkins Street branch service. It will also replace BlueLine’s Congress Street branch service starting in Fall 2021.
- Buses will travel from 5th & Clybourn (near the Intermodal Station) on the east end to 92nd & Grantosa on the west end in the following manner:
- Via Route 80’s routing on 6th, Locust, and Hopkins to Capitol Drive, then
- Via the RedLine’s routing on Capitol Drive to Fond du Lac Avenue, then
- Via the BlueLine’s routing on Fond du Lac Avenue and Congress Street to 92nd Street.
- Buses will run from 5:00 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.
- Buses on weekdays will run approximately every 25 - 30 minutes.
- Buses on weekends will run approximately every 30 to 35 minutes (versus 45 to 50 minutes today).

Route 58 (Villard Avenue): More Frequent Service and New Connections to Jobs and Shopping
- Route 58 is a new route that replaces Route 80’s Villard Avenue branch service. Service will also extend west of Appleton & Villard to Lovers Lane & Silver Spring.
- Buses will travel from Green Bay & Hampton on the east to Lovers Lane & Silver Spring on the west in the following manner:
- Via Route 80’s routing on Green Bay Avenue and Villard Avenue to Appleton Avenue, then
- Via Route 57’s routing on Appleton Avenue and Silver Spring to Lovers Lane.
- Buses will run from 5:00 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.
- Buses on weekdays will run approximately every 20 to 25 minutes (versus 30 to 35 minutes today).
- Buses on weekends will run approximately every 30 minutes (versus 60 minutes today).
- Buses will be scheduled to connect with Route 80 high frequency service for riders who want to transfer at Green Bay & Hampton.
- There will no longer be service on Lancaster Avenue between N. 84th and Appleton Avenue due to low ridership. Service will remain on Villard in both directions.

Route 80 (6th Street): Expanding High Frequency Service and Simplifying Service

Route 80 (6th Street) will be modified to provide more high frequency service to jobs as well as easier to understand routing.
- Route 80’s high frequency service will be extended north of Locust Street (including 7th Street/8th Street, Dr. M.L.K. Drive and Green Bay Avenue) to Florist Avenue. Buses will arrive every 15 minutes on weekdays from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. between Mitchell International Airport and Florist Avenue.
- Residents north of Locust Street will notice buses arrive approximately twice as often as they do today – every 15 minutes on weekdays (versus 30 minutes) and every 20 to 25 minutes on weekends (versus 40 to 45 minutes).
- Service on the Hopkins Street branch will be replaced by a new, expanded route, Route 34 (see Route 34 details).
- Service on the Villard Avenue branch will be replaced by a new, expanded route, Route 58 (see Route 58 details).
- There will no longer be service on Edgerton Avenue due to low ridership. Buses will instead travel via Layton Avenue between 6th Street and Howell Avenue.

Route 88 (Brown Deer Road): New Connections to Jobs and Shopping
- Route 88 is a new route that replaces Route 12’s Brown Deer Road service. It will also replace Route 76’s Brown Deer Road service starting in Fall 2021.
- Buses will travel on Brown Deer Road between Green Bay Road and N. 107th Street. Buses will then travel on N. 107th Street between Brown Deer Road and Bradley Road, on Bradley Road between N. 107th Street and N. 124th Street, and on N. 124th Street between Bradley Road and Old Orchard Road to Stratton Circle.
- Buses will provide new, regular service to Woodman’s, Sam’s Club, and Aldi at 124th & Bradley.
- Buses will run from 5:00 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.
- Buses will run approximately every 20 to 25 minutes, seven days a week.
- Buses will be scheduled to connect with Route 12 high frequency service for riders who want to transfer at Green Bay & Deerwood.
