Milwaukee County residents can have their voices heard in the upcoming Election. Whether you’re voting early by mail, voting early in-person, or heading to the polls on Election Day, we want to help make sure you’re prepared. And if you need a ride, we’ll get you there! To get started, please click one of the three tabs below.

Option #1: Vote Early (Absentee by Mail)

Are you planning on voting absentee? Great! Be sure to request your absentee ballot as far in advance of the election as possible. Remember, you need to make sure there’s enough time for you to receive the ballot in the mail, complete it, then return it (either via mail or by dropping it off in-person at a designated drop off location). Your municipal clerk’s office must receive your completed absentee ballot no later than 8:00 p.m. on Election Day. But that’s cutting it awfully close! So if you’re planning to vote by mail, we encourage you to get the process started soon. Click here for more information about how to vote absentee by mail.

If you need to ride the bus to get to your municipal clerk’s office or a designated drop-off location, we can help. Enter your starting point and your destination using the Trip Planning feature on RideMCTS.com or the Ride MCTS app to find the best route. You can also get trip planning assistance via phone by calling MCTS Customer Service at 414-937-3218 during business hours (Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).

Option #2: Vote Early (Absentee In-Person)

Want to vote in-person but you don’t want to wait until Election Day? No problem. Wisconsin voters can vote before Election Day through a process called absentee in-person voting. Every city or municipality has different rules (including locations, dates, and times for early voting). But usually you’ll go to your municipal clerk’s office or a designated Early Voting location to fill out an absentee ballot and turn it in right away. Head to myvote.wi.gov to find your designated Early Vote location in Milwaukee County.

Option #3: Vote In-Person on Election Day

Prefer to vote in-person on Election Day? Head to myvote.wi.gov to find your designated polling location based on your home address. Once you know where to go, head there between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. As long as you’re in line by 8:00 p.m., you will be allowed to cast your ballot.

With dozens of bus routes and thousands of stops across Milwaukee County, MCTS serves many polling locations. Use the Trip Planning feature on RideMCTS.com or the Ride MCTS app to help find the best route to take. You can also get trip planning assistance via phone by calling MCTS Customer Service at 414-937-3218 during business hours (Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
